Make no mistake! There is a difference between being rich and being successful in life, but there is only a small percentage of people who have mastered the process that leads to success.
When i talk about success in this context, i am talking about the passions, freedoms, experiences, relationships, desires and actions that money cannot buy.
It is obvious that money must be saved, invested and not wasted, but there is also a certain degree of self-awareness that must be achieved to achieve this much coveted achievement.
Here are some common mistakes to avoid in order to be successful
“Anything you can do or dream of, you can start. Bold has genius, power, and magic. “- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.
1. Waste time on things that are not aligned with your goals
Success is what you value the most. It can be family, travel, loneliness, adventure, etc. However, you need to be aware enough to determine what true success you want to achieve and thus prioritize your life around that goal.
2. Stay confined within your comfort zone
Your comfort zone is an artificial mental boundary that gives you a sense of security. In this artificial zone everything is routine, familiar and reassuring.
Outside of our comfort zone is a space called “Optimal Anxiety.” It is the zone of all human performance and the place that motivates us to be successful and to do our best.
3. Getting lost in too many goals at once
One of the most common mistakes on the road to success is having too many goals. In other words, having too much that you want to accomplish is like shooting yourself in the foot.
Write down your first 25 life goals then circle the 5 main goals. The rest of the other twenty should become your second choice list. They should be put aside without drawing your attention until your top 5 goals are achieved.
4. Want to compare yourself to others
Become a better version of yourself every day. Find mentors, people who inspire you, but don’t compare yourself too much to them. It’s best to work on improving yourself a little more each day to avoid unnecessary frustration and disappointment that will hurt your motivation.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. “- Steve Jobs
5. Do not seek to increase your knowledge
There is a body of knowledge necessary to achieve your dreams. If you want to be successful, you will need to acquire this knowledge and then apply it to your day-to-day life.
Make a wise decision and invest your time and money in getting the education that will allow you to achieve this success.
6. Not taking enough risks
The main reason most people don’t succeed is simply because they don’t do anything to make it happen. They can talk well and they know how to dream really big, but they lack the courage to take action.
Create a vision, believe in its realization, then stay focused.
7. Undergo bad influences
Successful people date winners so that they can mutually assert their own right to be successful. If you are truly determined to succeed, then you will have to choose your friends and associates carefully.
What mistakes did you make that slowed down your progress? What did you do to fix it?
