With the democratization of telecommuting, having a stable connection at home has become as important as at work. And the WiFi offered by internet boxes is not always optimal. Discover the new NETGEAR Orbi WiFi 6.
Managing WiFi at home can be more difficult than it looks. With the proliferation of connected objects, increasingly heavy multimedia content and the advent of teleworking, reliability is a key point today. In most homes, the creation and management of the WiFi network go through the internet box. But the latter are not necessarily the most efficient in terms of wireless networks, and large spaces are very often a problem. NETGEAR’s WiFi Mesh Orbi systems address these issues, taking it to the next level with the new WiFi 6 family.
Better reach
Bad WiFi is often a combination of two factors: speed and range. To cover as much space as possible, traditional solutions such as WiFi repeaters or systems with a single access point are not the most reliable. Whether because of distances, floors or walls, connecting in an apartment or house very often does not offer maximum range and stability.
In addition to this, the proliferation of connected objects connected to WiFi can create network congestion. Between light bulbs, smart TVs, PCs, tablets and smartphones, the number of devices per household has exploded in recent years. Not to mention the users who log in simultaneously whether to telecommute, study remotely, play online or stream Netflix videos.
To remedy this, the Orbi WiFi 6 range incorporates various technologies, including Tri-Band, MU-MIMO and WiFi Mesh. To benefit from it, all you have to do is connect your Orbi router to your internet box. Then you can connect satellites to it, via WiFi, to extend coverage throughout your home. All together forming a stable WiFi network with a single WiFi name, for all connected devices. No need to renew your mobile equipment since WiFi 6 is fully compatible with older generations of WiFi.
Ultra fast connection
In 2021, streaming is in 4K, gaming in the cloud and video ubiquitous. In addition to having to ensure range throughout the home, your WiFi system must also be very fast, regardless of the type and number of terminals connected.
Since their inception, the NETGEAR Orbi have offered the fastest possible WiFi connection. In particular thanks to the integration of the very latest WiFi technologies, but also the automatic management of the bandwidth, so that it is always optimal. With its new models, WiFi 6 is integrated, and speeds can go up to 6 Gbit / s, which is much more powerful than necessary, to handle all possible speeds.
Key point, setting up a WiFi network can be scary on the surface, and Orbi makes it all easy. Using the mobile app, you will be able to deploy your network in minutes, limit access to certain devices, set up a guest network, add NETGEAR Armor cybersecurity service, and more. Everything is thought for simplicity.
Three models for different uses
In its new WiFi 6 line, NETGEAR offers three Orbi models.
The first, Orbi WiFi 6 AX1800 (Series 300), is the most accessible. It provides coverage on a level up to 200m2 (RBK352, router + satellite pack), and the speed can reach 1.8 Gb / s thanks to its dual-band WiFi network. It also has 6 ethernet ports, which allow you to easily manage your wired terminals.
In the mid-range, we find the Orbi WiFi 6 AX4200 (700 Series) model. It covers a larger space, with up to 350m² (RBK752, router + satellite pack) with a speed of up to 4.2 Gb / s. It uses NETGEAR’s patented Tri-Band technology, which reserves a radio channel for the link between the router and the satellite, ensuring maximum speed for the devices in your home. It provides lossless network access for more than 40 devices at a time. Perfect for large homes and connected households who wish to take advantage of their Fiber internet connection at the maximum speeds offered by their operator.
The ultimate in the NETGEAR WiFi 6 family is the Orbi WiFi 6 AX6000 (800 Series). It enables peak lossless speeds of up to 6 Gb / s over an area of up to 460 m2 (RBK852, router + satellite pack). It also sets new standards for the number of simultaneous streams. Up to 12 streams allow up to 100 devices to be connected in parallel and stably – an unbeatable advantage, especially in modern smart homes with many connected devices. You will enjoy maximum throughput for all your uses. The brand’s most high-end pack, the RBK853 (router + 2 satellite pack) provides coverage up to 690 m2. In total, the Orbi AX6000 series router can be combined with up to six satellites to cover an area of up to 1500 m².
Ideal in particular for large multi-storey houses, thick walls, numerous and ultra-connected households that want to take advantage of their Fiber WiFi connection, everywhere in the house.
For each of the models in the range, you can opt for packs offering more or less satellites
