In just four years, no less than 4 generations of the iPhone have appeared since the iPhone 6, with their share of variations. Enough to let the iPhone 6 and its 6s and 6s Plus versions join the ranks of the dinosaurs of smartphones, when they are finally only 4 years old.
Except that with a start-up problem shared by multiple copies, the iPhone 6s actually shows its age, and the customer sees it, the vast majority of which has already abandoned the device for a newer model, running at iOS or Android. A problem for which Apple wants to do something, when the Cupertino firm realized that the rather frequent ignition problem would actually come from a specific part.
A recall campaign for the iPhone 6s
For example, the “Support” tab on Apple’s website has updated a new page, indicating that a repair program is available for all Apple devices with a sales serial number between October 2018 and August 2019. All aircraft in this series are suffering from a failure in their start-up system. A specific part would be the cause, and Apple offers to repair the worry for free for all owners.
The web page reports on the problem, while offering the customer to enter the serial number of their smartphone in a specific insert. This allows you to check whether the customer’s iPhone 6s is indeed affected by the recall campaign.
In a statement, the Apple brand said it was a problem affecting only certain copies of iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Thus, the classic iPhone 6 is in no way affected. “Apple has determined that some iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices may no longer turn on because of a faulty component. The problem affects only certain devices that respond to certain well-targeted serial numbers that were manufactured between October 2018 and August 2019,” the statement said.
