Are you looking to become a future leader? So you should know that reading and learning are 2 things that leaders consume on a daily basis.
Today I will love to share with you my best books on leadership .
I am going to present you 7 books on leadership that have allowed me to develop certain complementary skills with each other.
These books do not deal with financial or business management subjects as in the books “Père Riche Père Pauvre”, “The Millionaire Highway” or “The Secrets of a Millionaire Spirit”.
Let’s go immediately to discover books that will allow you to become the best version of yourself, to become a future leader!
1. POWER: 48 laws of power by Robert Greene
Here is the first of the best leadership books on this list. Robert Greene’s Book 48 Laws of Power.
These are 48 laws on entrepreneurship, leadership, the development of its communication, the development of strategies and relational intelligence. To me, this book is a very good book.
Indeed, it is interesting from a mindset point of view, in other words, from a state of mind. This book exists in summary format, and from my experience, I use it regularly.
It is easy to go back over the principles just by reading the name of the laws.
2. How to find the leader in you from Dale Carnegie
This book is in my opinion the first leadership book to read. It will help you understand that anyone today has the ability to be a leader.
No matter what stage you are at in your life, this book will help you determine which leader you are going to be able to become.
The first grove we face in leadership is that we think it’s not for us.
Yet the book Finding the Leader In You is a book that helps us overcome this blockage.
Of course, the book is full of techniques to become a leader, whether it is on the aspect of communication, self-confidence, productivity, or relating to others …
3. The Power of Habits by Charles Duhigg: 3rd of the Best Leadership Books
This book is very specialized because we are not talking about leadership in a global way, but we are mainly talking about a particular skill. A skill that every leader must have: knowing how to set up habits.
You know that if you want to become a leader, you have to do things mechanically, regardless of your level of motivation. You have to take good habits.
It’s once a positive action turns into a habit that you see the benefits it brings. Indeed, it is the continuous progression that allows us to obtain significant results.
Note that you can’t just break a bad habit. It must be replaced by positive action.
For example, in the case of a person who wants to quit smoking, the time of the cigarette break should be replaced by a coffee break or a reading break.
4. The 7 habits of those who succeed in everything they do, the leader’s bible
This book is one of the best books on leadership. It is complementary to that seen previously.
In the first one you will learn how to set up a habit. In it, you will be able to adopt the habits of leaders in order to make a difference. Here are the 7 habits found in this book:
know how to be proactive;
think win-win;
understand that victory is internal;
know from the start where to go;
prioritize priorities;
take advantage of the synergy,
to sharpen its faculties.
5. Gary Keller’s The One Thing: A Good Leader’s Productivity Book
This is one of the best leadership books in my opinion. This is a book that will help you understand how to be more productive.
The promise conveyed in this book is “you want less and you want more. Now you can have both: less and more. ”. In other words, it’s about getting to do less while getting more.
For my part, this book has allowed me to learn to segment my projects and to understand how to be more productive in certain daily missions.
Another metaphor that is used in the book is that of the rabbit. If you try to chase 2 rabbits in a field, you are sure to catch neither of them. Whereas if you focus your efforts on catching and stalking only one, you have a chance of catching it.
6. The excellence of Robert Greene
Here is a very good book which will allow you to understand the essential principle of the mentora. How to make sure you have a mentor, to overcome him and then to detach himself from him and understand how to acquire new skills and new know-how.
I really like this book because it gave me an understanding of how humans are designed to learn to perform certain tasks.
Take, for example, learning the piano. To begin with, you will have to acquire the first skills which are the most complicated. To do this, you have to be open-minded.
Following this, we arrive at a phase where we master the tool and the domain in question. Then we have a little more fun, and in the last phase, creativity takes place.
This is the time when we are going to question the codes we have learned, and where we will start to create things on our own.
7. Sun Tzu’s Art of War
The Art of War is a reference book for military strategies.
All these strategies can be interpreted in the implementation of management techniques, communication, conflict management, marketing, etc. Among these techniques, there are:
using a good environment;
not to attack the enemy on ground that is unknown to us;
using the environment to be able to put pressure on the enemy, etc.
We are coming to the end of this article. I hope these 7 books will get you more. They are in my opinion the best leadership books you can read today.
If you’ve already read one of these books, I invite you to share your thoughts on it in the comments.
If you know others, please share them as well.
